The Tragedy of Bochim is the story of a people who heard God’s Word, felt conviction, lifted their voices and wept—yet walked away unchanged. In Judges 2, Israel discovered that compromise has consequences: what they refused to conquer eventually began to conquer them. The tragedy was not that Israel didn’t cry—the tragedy was that when the crying was over, they walked away unchanged.
