We Are to Cleanse Ourselves. Every born again Christian is commanded by God, our eternal Father, to cleanse ourselves. This means we are to have pure thoughts and attitudes, clean and encouraging speech as well as being willing to perform necessary and righteous deeds. Cleansing and purifying who we are, is absolutely necessary according to Isaiah chapter 1 verses 16 to 18. A major way to cleanse ourselves is to learn, read, meditate, confess and apply God's word over every circumstance of our life. We are to cleanse our life constantly from our own flesh, the evil of the world we live in and the lies and deceits of Satan and his demonic hordes. Though our sins might be like scarlet and crimson red, our lives can become as white as snow or cleansed wool. We are the ones that must be willing to put away sin, in our lives!
Episode Notes
Acknowledge Any Secret Thoughts. It is so easy for any of us, to seek to hide or gloss over any of our secret faults. However it is absolutely essential that we are willing to acknowledge where we keep missing it and then be willing, in our spirit and in our soul, to change the situation, according to the directions of the Holy Spirit. We are given righteous advice on this topic from Psalm 19 verses 12 and 13. We must never be so presumptuous as to think or believe that we know far better than anyone else; this vitally includes obeying God's word and the directions that the Holy Spirit gives to our spirit, our inner person. Our desire must be to live a blameless life, before the Lord and before other people. Always make a real effort not to be proud and boastful. Pride is the transgression that Satan committed as he endeavoured but failed to take God's place as the creator and ruler of the universe.
