“What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” – James 4:14b One of the dangers of leading lives that are so often influenced by the hustle and bustle of day-to-day necessities is that we can fail to look at the big picture. James demands of us, “What is your life?” What is the direction of it? What are you chasing? What are you after? Jesus tells us in John 14:6, definitively, that He is The Life. He is not one path of many, one good option, a potential source. He is the life. He’s talking about worth. He’s declaring Himself to be sufficient, enough – satisfying.
