The Struggles and Privileges of living for Christ - Philippians 1:21-30

Paul was writing from inside a prison, yet joy seems to be a dominant theme in this letter to the Philippians. He felt compelled to write these letters to teach and encourage the believers in the various churches he had planted since he couldn’t be present with them in person. Paul’s prayer was that when he stood trial, he would speak courageously for Christ, he would live for Christ and not be timid or ashamed. Whether he lived or died, he wanted to exalt Christ. Paul had a goal for his life and he had hope. Thinking about this, 3 thoughts come to mind: 1) What does living for Christ mean? 2) What does it mean when I’m torn between two desires? 3) Is it OK to have pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is done for us?
