This past Sunday we explored the idea that the first step toward your next chapter isn’t a plan or a vision, but grief. We looked at why we so often avoid grief, what it costs us when we do, and why the church gives us seasons like All Saints, Lent, and Good Friday to face our mortality honestly. Drawing on Brené Brown, we are invited to stop asking how to “get over” loss and start asking who and what we carry with us.
Because grief isn’t a finish line. It’s what allows us to unclench our fists and step into what has not yet been made known.
