Crucify the Flesh - Part 1

John Macdonald

It is essential that all Christians are willing to crucify or put to death in their flesh, all the lusts and desires of the flesh, the world and the Devil. No Christian can be truly sanctified for the Lord's use until they put to death the things of the world. As Christ was crucified in the flesh, so must we be willing to be crucified to every thing that is not of God. We must not be taken captive by the world and its evil satanic schemes, which have no part with God. Those who inherit eternal life are children of God, blood bought by the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. We must be willing to crucify those thoughts, that speech and deeds of evil that are part of the world.

Episode Notes

Jesus Was Crucified for Mankind's Sins. We learn in Acts chapter 2 verse 23 that in order to save sinful mankind, Jesus was crucified on the Cross by the predetermined purpose and foreknowledge of God the Father. He was crucified by lawless people, namely Roman soldiers and Jewish leaders, who neither knew or worshipped the true and living God. Our task is to tell others, who are in jeopardy of eternal damnation, about the saving grace of Jesus Christ, our eternal Lord and Saviour. By being obedient and faithful to the Lord, we ourselves, also, can escape the fires of hell. Yes, in order to do so, we must leave behind many of the things of the world, even some of our family and personal relationships and particularly, many of the things, of the flesh, that we hold dearly. To be an effective Christian we must learn to be crucified to the flesh, the world and the devil.
