Addiction serves as a powerful reflection of this reality. It isn’t limited to substances or destructive behaviors; it can manifest in the craving for approval, ambition, technology, food, entertainment, or even the pursuit of ministry itself. Often, addiction begins with subtle whispers of entitlement: “I have the right,” “I can handle this,” “I deserve this.” What starts as a sense of freedom gradually morphs into dependency. The heart becomes restless without it, the soul grows weary under its weight, and the will weakens in resistance.
