Picture the scene in John chapter 8. A woman is dragged through the dust and thrown down in front of Jesus. She's been caught in sin, caught red-handed, and there's no denying it. A crowd is standing around her with stones in their hands, and every eye is on her. She knows how this ends. She's already been tried, already been sentenced in their minds. All that's left is the punishment.
But then Jesus kneels down. One by one, the accusers walk away, until it's just Him and her. And He says two things that change her life forever. First: "Neither do I condemn you." And then: "Go now and leave your life of sin." Notice both halves. He doesn't pretend she's innocent. But He refuses to condemn her, and He refuses to leave her the same. This morning, some of you feel like that woman on the ground, surrounded by voices reminding you of what you've done. I want you to hear what Jesus says when the crowd goes quiet. Turn with me to Romans 8, because Paul is about to tell us why that same verdict can be spoken over your life today.
