Who’s the “Me” that’s being followed here?
The Savior
The Messiah,
The Promised One
Jesus does not need your acceptance.
We need him.
Matthew 4:13–14: 13 And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled
Follow
To follow Jesus means to live with radical abandonment for His glory.
Follow Me means leaving behind
For all who follow Jesus, comfort and certainty in this world are no longer your concern
Abandon all
Our possessions,
Our position.
Our Safety
Matthew 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Consider the cost of discipleship.
We have found Someone Who is worth losing everything for
To live with joyful dependence on His grace.
To live with faithful adherence to His person.
To live with total trust in His authority.
How To live with urgent obedience to His mission.
Consider the cost of non-discipleship.
We miss out on the abundance, and the joy, and the peace, and the satisfaction, and the power that Jesus has promised to all who will leave behind, let go of amll things and cling to Him
