Introduction Ephesians 6 and the believer’s armor: 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Eph 6:13-17) II. The Nature of Spiritual Warfare Our struggle is not against flesh and blood Constant call to walk carefully, pursue holiness, and resist the devil Importance of God’s strength and our disciplined participation III. Overview of the Armor of God Six pieces of armor: belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet, sword First three are continual: truth, righteousness, readiness Remaining three taken up as needed: faith, salvation, Word of God IV. Review: The Shield of Faith Faith extinguishes the flaming arrows of temptation Sin occurs when we believe Satan’s lie rather than God’s truth Holiness is choosing to believe God’s promises and goodness V. The Helmet of Salvation A. What the Helmet Represents Not initial salvation (justification) Not ongoing sanctification Refers to future salvation: glorification B. The Three Stages of Salvation Justification – saved from penalty of sin Sanctification – being saved from power of sin Glorification – will be saved from presence of sin C. Hope of Salvation (1 Thess. 5:8) Protects the mind: confidence in final victory Essential for courage in the spiritual battle VI. Why Assurance Matters A believer unsure of salvation becomes fearful, withdrawn Eternal security fuels boldness, sacrifice, endurance Confidence prevents discouragement and spiritual paralysis VII. Biblical Promises of Eternal Security John 6:37–40 – Jesus keeps all the Father gives Him John 10:27–29 – No one can snatch believers from Christ’s hand Romans 8:31–39 – Nothing can separate us from God’s love Philippians 1:6 – He will finish the work He began Ephesians 1:13–14 – Sealed with the Holy Spirit Jude 1 & 24 – Kept and preserved by Christ VIII. The Effect of Eternal Security on Christian Living Produces courage in suffering Sustains perseverance and hope Encourages holiness and obedience Anchors the soul in trials IX. Conclusion Helmet = hope and assurance of final salvation Protects against discouragement, fear, and doubt Enables Christians to fight confidently and faithfully Final encouragement: Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord ''' GRACE BAPTIST PODCAST HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST WEBSITE https://gracebaptistofsecondlife.godaddysites.com
