The second half of Ecclesiastes repeats many of the same themes from the first – but it does so in a way that leads to its ultimate conclusion. The book has a lot to say about all that is not worthy of our time – our attention – our drive. In this way, it is a “negative” book in that it highlights many of the problems and shortcomings in our lives. But – at the end, Solomon, Qoholet, the author of our book, comes to the conclusion that there is one thing that is not, is never, meaningless vanity – obedience to God. That is something that we would all agree with, at least on paper. Whether we live that out in our lives is another thing entirely. But this is why Ecclesiastes was written – in the hopes that we could learn from someone who tried it all and was left wanting. Join us for our conclusion to this tremendous Old Testament book! -Pastor Nate Roschen
