“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9 In chapter 4, the author of Ecclesiastes begins to explore ways of coping with all of the meaningless and oppressive things that happen under the sun. He is distraught by the amount of violence, cruelty, and corruption. He goes as far as to say that it would be better to be dead, or to have never been born – than to have to bear witness to all of the evil that exists in the world. Of course, he is being hyperbolic here. But hopefully we catch his point, that how people live apart from God is hard to look at. It’s here that the author offers something helpful – facing life together. A concerted effort of people choosing contentment, together. Join us as we explore the wonderful 4th chapter of this book of wisdom! -Pastor Nate Roschen
