Children/Youth and Smartphone Technology:
Technology is a tool that can either mover us upward and forward in knowledge and wisdom in Christ or downward into sin, self, foolishness and away from Christ. Using the book, “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt, we examine how smartphone technology has moved us from play-based childhoods to phone-based childhoods. The consequences have been a dramatic increase of emotional and mental issues (anxiety and depression) as well as spiritual problems. Parents need to band together to move away from unbiblical safetyism to a responsible care and provision in the area of smartphone technology to grow our children in wisdom.
