Psalm 23
Learning to Follow
Psalm 23:1-6 Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in
green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads
me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod
and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of
my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.
Isaiah 53:6 we’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and got lost
we’ve all done our own thing gone our own way

● God CHOOSES to restore me.

Psalm 23:3 He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s
sake.
John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice; I know them and they follow Me.”
HOW DO I DISCOVER AND FOLLOW GOD’S PLAN?
1. Read my Bible.
John 10:2-3 The man who enters by the gate is The Shepherd of his
sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his
voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
John 10:4 When he has brought out all of his own, he goes on ahead of
them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
John 10:5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will turn away
from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
2. Change directions of DISOBEDIENCE.
3. Ask others who are closely following the Good Shepherd.
● Principle: People who choose WRONG paths can’t help you choose
RIGHT paths.
● Tune out wrong voices!
4. Pray.
● Prayer: “Lord, I know there are right paths and wrong paths. Help me
recognize the difference and choose the right one. Stay close to me.
Help me stay close to You. Lead me. Guide me. Direct me. I will follow
you.”
