Episode Notes

● We want to walk in both the POWER and the CHARACTER of Jesus.

● The GIFTS of the spirit function best within the FRUITS of the Spirit.

John 14:12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I
have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I
am going to the Father.

Galatians 3:2-3 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you
receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?
3Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now
trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Galatians 5:16-17 “So, I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the
desires of the sinful nature, or the flesh. For the sinful nature, the flesh,
desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other.”

Galatians 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery;20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord,
jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy;
drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those
who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Acts 11:24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

● When you walk with Jesus, you start to LOOK LIKE JESUS!

● Submitting to the Spirit in ONE area will bring freedom in EVERY
area of your life.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I
in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of
the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

The bible likens The Holy Spirit to:

● a dove
● wine
● oil
● fire
● wind
● breath of God
● a spring of living water; river

1 Corinthians 2:12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has
freely given us.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the
Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own;

Ephesians 4:29-31 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your
mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their
needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the HolySpirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every
form of malice.

John 2:13-16 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus
went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle,
sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15So he
made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep
and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned
their tables.

16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here!

Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

John 16:8-11 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong
about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do
not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father,
where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the
prince of this world now stands condemned.

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and
the message is heard through the word about Christ.

● Whatever I'm HEARING... my faith in that thing grows...we all need
to grow in our faith in the righteousness of God!

Ezekiel 36:26-27 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. I
will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be
careful to keep my laws.

Romans 6:11, 14 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive
to God in Christ Jesus. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

John 8:7-11 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and
said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a
stone at her.” 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11
“No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
