Oftentimes we try to make new commitments to good things before we break our old commitments with the bad. We may think that we can change simply by ignoring the past and starting over again – but eventually, we will fall back into the same patterns we’ve clung to because we haven’t properly detached from them. In Part 3 of "Stop / Start", Pastor Joe teaches us the importance of repentance. If want to start experiencing all God has for us in Christ, we must first decide to reject the things that Christ rejects. When we repent of the sinful parts of ourselves and stop doing the things that drive a wedge between us and God, our new life can begin!
