29 You Owe A Debt

In Romans 8:12-15, the Apostle Paul said if you live according to the flesh and are continually yielding to the lusts and desires of it you will die. But if you are crucifying your flesh, living in the Spirit, continually denying and putting to death the flesh, and walking after the things of the Spirit, you will experience new life: Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (Romans 8:12-15) Due to the tremendous sacrifice Christ made on the cross as the sinless Son of God, we owe a great debt. We are all debtors to God. We are debtors to the Spirit of God who lives within us. We have an obligation to no longer live our lives to please our fleshly desires, but rather live to please Him.
