God spoke to the Prophet Hosea regarding His people, Israel, saying: Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor (trouble) a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. (Hosea 2:14, 17) Do you see what God is doing in these verses? As a result of Israel’s sinfulness, God was going to entice, persuade, and lure them--to where?
