The French existentialist John Paul Sarte famously wrote that "Hell is other people" He was not a pure misanthrope who thought other people were not worthy of any respect. Rather, he was pointing out that we can feel judged and belittled by other people. Jesus tells a parable about a Pharisee who acts superior to a man praying right next to him which perfectly displays this dynamic. This weekend, Dr. Jim Keck will try to disrupt our endless comparisons and judgements which can make life hell.
