John13.1-17

John 13:1–17 opens the farewell section of John’s Gospel with a powerful scene at the Last Supper, where Jesus, fully aware that his death is near, demonstrates his love by taking the role of a servant and washing his disciples’ feet. This shocking act of humility—normally done by the lowest servant—serves as both a picture of spiritual cleansing and a model of sacrificial love and leadership.
