The Nativity story contains a wild amalgamation of characters from the shepherds, to the magi, to the Holy Family, a collection of people just as unusual as our own extended families. This Advent, we will take a closer glimpse of the Awkward Family Photo in the Gospels who gather for Jesus birth--beginning with the family members who seem to be at the center of all the drama: Mary and Joseph.
