Of all the things Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, perhaps His most memorable line is Matthew 7.1: “Judge not, that you be not judged.” Unfortunately, this is also one of His most misquoted, misused, and misunderstood statements. Given Jesus’ warning not to judge, this has become the “go-to verse” for silencing all opposition to behavior contrary to what the Bible says.
