Don't Just Stand There

Purpose Statement: What motivates us to march forward? We can only reflect backwards. We go from our memory. We cannot retrace or undo the past. Should the camp turn back or “March Forward” toward the Red Sea? The Lord commanded Israel after they left Egypt to “March Forward.” What did Pharoah say (vs. 3)? Was his heart hardened? They were saved from Pharoah’s army but it wasn’t the end of their journey. The Israelites feared them greatly. The Israelites knew that God had appointed Moses as their mediator so the way they responded to Moses shows how they’re responding in their hearts. They said, “What have you done to us in the wilderness?” Moses does believe that he is the representative from God. The order was “Forward March!” And it must be in faith, not fear. How would they go over the Red Sea? Can their faith face the horrors of war? Does Moses trust God? Does the Israelites trust God? Do we trust God? Who blames who?
