From Customers to Co-Workers

Fr. Jon Aamodt

"Are you just 'going' to church, or are you actually being The Church? Today, we’re breaking down the 'Pervasive Consumer Mentality' that treats faith like a gym membership and keeps us stuck in the bleachers as spectators. It’s time to move from the sidelines to the frontlines. Whether you feel like a 'runaway' or you’re just ready for a wake-up call, we’re exploring what it means to stop begging God to bless our plans and start joining His. Get ready to shift from a consummate consumer to a Kingdom Co-Worker. Let’s get to work."

Episode Notes

Notes: From Customer to Co-Worker

The Problem: PCM (Pervasive Consumer Mentality): Modern culture often frames faith as a service to be consumed, turning believers into spectators rather than active partners.

The Mission (Missio Dei): The church doesn’t just have a mission; the Mission of God has a Church to fulfill His work in the world.

The Shift: We must stop 'going to church' as a Sunday finish line and start seeing it as the 'starting blocks' for a 24/7 missional identity.

The 'Mark' vs. 'Demas' Path:
    • Demas: A dropout who deserted the mission because he loved the present world.
    • Mark: A former runaway who was restored, became useful to the mission, and eventually wrote a Gospel.
The Call to Action: The Holy Spirit is raising up 'ordinary' co-workers to re-evangelize and save a generation in post-Christian areas.
