Get in the Fight

● A disciple shares his faith with all people.

Matthew 4:19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be

my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

Three reasons why everybody needs to engage in the fulfilling of the great

commission:

1. Jesus PROMISED us.

Acts 1:8 You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. And you will

be my witnesses…

Matthew 4:18-19 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon,

who's called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were

both fishermen. 19 And Jesus said to them, follow me and I will make you a fisher of

men.

● Jesus never commanded PERFORMANCE, but He did promise TRANSFORMATION.

2. The Gospel COMPELS us.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.

● A witness simply gives an honest account about what they've seen and heard

3. The Spirit EMPOWERS us.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than anything we can

ask or think according to the power that is at work within us.
