Growing God’s Way Come and See John 1:39 39 He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.* Jesus Invites All to Come &See! I. Jesus Set and Modeled Expectations for Disciples a. He left the comforts Heaven and entered our world b. He prepared Himself, learning the context and culture c. He made himself available and Intentionally developed relationships d. He responded to those who showed interest e. He challenged seekers to repent and believe II. Expectations of Disciple-Makers Seekers need Christ-followers desperately a. to enter their world relationally b. to have prepared themselves BE Prepared c. to be available & invest in friendships Build Relationships d. to Respond to those who show Interest e. to clearly present the Gospel Challenge seekers to repent and believe III. Ministering to Seekers a. Issue the simple challenge: Come & See b. Understand ministry to seekers is a Process: Cultivation Planting Reaping c. Understand and communicate that Jesus is the only way to reconcile with God. d. The single motivation is Love e. Evangelism is a by-product of a healthy body! Healthy things re-produce, healthy Christians re-produce, healthy churches re-produce f. We Reap in proportion to what we Sow Application: Who are some seeker of God that I know personally? What steps will I take to personally deepen my relationship with the seekers I know?
